Undergraduate Program
Environmental Horticulture
We provide education for the students to be specialized professional equipped with appropriate knowledge and practical skills in the areas of horticulture, gardening, and environment.
With more than 40 years of experience, we provide solid education for the students to be specialists in the areas of horticulture, gardening, and environment. The students will learn to have practical skills, along with sensibility and scientific knowledge, as well as deep understanding of the importance of coexisting with nature and creatures.
Health and Nutrition
This is the only school to provide training to be national registered dietitian in Miyazaki prefecture. There are a lot of practical opportunities after graduate.
As the only training school to become national registered dietitian in Miyazaki prefecture, it was established in 2003. A majority of the graduates of this school work in medical/welfare facilities or schools in Miyazaki prefecture, educating people in the community as to healthy diet and health control. The students work hard for their goals.
The school educates the students to be diet specialist who has both manufacturer’s and consumer’s point of view.
In this school, the students learn and research food safety and functionality, food development and processing as well as sensible consumption of food to be food specialist who is able to develop food products from both manufacturer’ s and consumer’s point of view.
Human development
We provide education for the students to learn to support the growth of people and the community.
The department was newly established in 2010 for the purpose of training the students to become a nursery school and kindergarten teachers. We provide education for the students to be “child specialist (= new teacher)” to support early childhood learning with a good understanding of human development as a whole.
Postgraduate Program
Horticulture/food scientific research
Master course specializing in food science (Miyazaki Campus)
The students will learn more specialized knowledge deeper in pursuance of new possibilities. The students majoring in food science will seek for new possibilities of food products while researching functions of microorganism and actual condition of the cells.
Master course specializing in horticulture (Miyakonojo Campus)
The students will further learn more specialized knowledge. The students will engage in research individually in the areas including the method of cultivating high quality agricultural crops while taking the environmental impact into consideration, and scenic blending of vegetation and human life.

There is a parallel establishment of Minami Kyushu Junior College, which is a group school of Minami Kyushu University. The campus is shared with Minami Kyushu University with the Building No.1 as the main facility.
